For Vickie with Love
Vickie, you went to live with the One you so proudly served,
Although, to us, our loss was not deserved.
In our eyes, you were too young to be taken---
Oh, how we prayed you would soon awaken!
You were our gift from God for 18 years of life;
We would have loved to see you become some young man's wife.
We look at your pictures and can't believe you are not here;
The emptiness inside us makes us shed another tear.
We are so proud of all that you have done---
You have no idea how many hearts you have won!
Vickie, you are such a beautiful person, inside and out.
There will come a day we will see you again, we have no doubt.
Until that day comes, we will try to go on,
And thank God every day that to us you were born.
We know you are in such a beautiful place in Heaven above,
Where God shows you always His wonderful love.
Vickie, you lived your short life with such amazing grace,
We live for the day we will once again look upon your smiling face.
So, Vickie, on this day and on all those yet to appear,
In our lives and hearts, you will always be near.
We love you, Vickie, with all our might.
God will bring us to the day when we will again have you in sight.
God bless you, Vickie, today and for all,
May you stand in Heaven, so proud and so tall.
